Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) STEM Degree Programs are designated by the Department of Homeland Security. Students at Temple have access to the latest in research technology, from state-of-the-art instrumentation to collaborative centers and institutes, where students and faculty are always involved in exciting interdisciplinary pursuits. They are building advanced microscopes, creating 3D-printed surgical needles and using robotics to understand how self-driving cars would impact traffic flow. They are seeking to better understand the opioid crisis, stem cells, decision-making behavior and how the Thwaites Glacier’s collapse could impact global sea level rise. They are working to combat dental anxiety, Alzheimer’s disease, pancreatic cancer and heart disease.
